Biography
Nigel Taylor is an esteemed international lawyer with over 40 years of experience in complex and high-value litigation.
He has resided in the Isle of Man since 2007 and is admitted to practice law in England and Wales, Hong Kong and the State of Victoria in Australia.
Throughout his career, lawyer Taylor has dealt exclusively with international (cross-border) litigation, mainly in relation to the maritime, aviation and insurance sectors. He started practice (1974) at a major London firm and later moved to Hong Kong for 11 years (1980-1991), where he held senior positions, including Managing Partner.
In 2007, he was invited to become Of Counsel to a major class action law firm based in San Francisco, with whom he worked for two years to develop a specialised aviation practice. Nigel Taylor is also Of Counsel to specialised class action law firms in Hong Kong and California.
He was the founder and first president of the Global Justice Network.
Since moving to the Isle of Man in 2007, lawyer Taylor has invested in a number of ventures ranging from law firm start-ups, litigation funding, hotel business, real estate and IT.
Lawyer Taylor was also very interested in the development of third-party litigation funding.
What is now considered a niche area of investment banking is an area in which he has participated as an occasional investor for over 20 years.
